The capital; that says a lot!!!

Come aboard this ultimate experience to the birthplace of democracy and philosophy. On this full-day tour, you will have the opportunity to explore, not only the Acropolis site but also the awarded New Acropolis Museum and the historical center. Experience the Plaka, where the heart of Athens beats, as an insider and taste the best of the world-renowned products of the Greek land.

Your tour starts from the port of Piraeus. As you gaze at the picturesque ports of Microlimano and Kastella, you will be provided with all the historical and cultural background of the area along the way. After a 30-minute drive, you will arrive in Athens, the cradle of western civilization.

Continue the city tour by bus through the busy streets of Panepistimiou and Stadiou. A stop at the Panathenaic Stadium to see where the first Olympic Games were held is a must. Continue to the highest hill in Athens, Lycabettus, with its great views of the city from the observatory and the chapel of Saint George. Carry on past the Parliament House, the Catholic Cathedral, the Athenian Trilogy consisted of the Academy, the Library and the University of Law, the Arch of Hadrian, the temple of Olympic Zeus and stop at the Syntagma Square to witness the Changing of the Presidential Guards.

Meet your certified tour guide and together walk through the Monumental Gate, the Propylaia, and up the hill to the Acropolis; become amazed by the awe-aspiring grandeur of the Parthenon and the Erechtheion Temple. The view of Athens and its 7 hills is breathtaking.

Feel the vibrant atmosphere in the pedestrian street of Dionysiou Aeropagitou, which connects the Athens of the past to that of the present.

The New Acropolis Museum is a one in a lifetime experience; hosting the most representative Greek antiquities, it has been awarded as one of the best museums in Europe. Underneath are the excavations of Ancient Athens. Become a part of history as you walk on the glass floor of the museum, the only thing separating you from the past! For those who do not wish to visit the museum with our certified guide, they may spend more free time in Plaka.

Enjoy your free time in the district of Plaka - as the name itself reveals, "the old". It is the most beautiful district of the historical center, which is located nearby and ideal for shopping and tasting the local cuisine.

Share your thoughts on your ultimate Athens experience as you unwind on your drive back to the port.

The highlights
  • An ultimate experience throughout the city of Athens and its historical center; the city of Goddess Athena, the Goddess of wisdom.
  • Board your bus so as to visit the marble Panathenaic Stadium that hosted the first modern Olympics in 1896; there you will be given time to take photos and feel like Olympic athletes!
  • Jump to the present with the Catholic Cathedral and the famous Athenian Trilogy on Panepistimou str. consisted of The University of Law, The Academy of Science and The National Library; the masterpieces of the so-called Neoclassical movement.
  • Later, passing in front of The Hadrian Arch of Triumph and The Temple of Zeus, you will have the chance to visualize the Roman aspect of Athens.
  • Your sightseeing will continue to the hotspots of both Modern and Ancient Athens. The Syntagma Square, which now is the heart of Athens, hosts The Greek House of Parliament. In the former centuries, this was the Royal Palace, surrounded then and still today by the National Gardens.
  • Also, a short stop for photos in front of The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Presidential Guards is a MUST! Wait a few minutes to see the changing of the guards, truly an impressive custom.
